Loomis can't decide whether to block bikes or cars

Observed by boobavon on Thu, Sep 20 2007

Nearly to class as I came on a Loomis truck, idling with hazard lights going. And we all know hazards are the universal nose upturned at all relevant traffic laws.

Friendly driver decided he didn't like me taking photos, and started honking at me, but no confrontation ensued.

One thing I forgot to mention - there were at least 4 open parking spaces not 10 meters past the truck.

They do that as a security precaution. They always park closest to the door (well they are told). He was probably honking at you for the same reason. They get nervous when people photograph stops, because that is often how heists are planned.

Well isn't that just a shame.

Dear RatherBeBiking,

I think you have a bone to pick with armored car guards. Leave these guys alone, there trying to make a living and not get killed in the process.

Sincerely,
RatherBeWorking

Too bad he didn't call the dispatcher. You could have told the FBI all about why you were taking pictures.

Yes you unlike the rest of the unknowing folks out there bitch about the way we park. but as yellowjacket has said, we do it for safty reasons. we dont care if its a bike lane, handicap, firelane, etc....we look out for us. im sorry we we put a cramp in your day, making you go around, forcing you to spend an extra 2.3 seconds to do so. our rule is "door to door" (meaning truck dorr to building door. no matter where we park) just think, if all hell were to go down, would you want to be caught in the line of fire? i mean i would have no problem using you as a human shield. oh, and by the way, unless you want to have all your video and photo equipment confiscated and destroyed and held in interigation by local law enforcement, i wouldnt be taking any more pictures of armored vehicles. youll be sorry. trust me.
